The cultural sector is severely affected by the corona crisis. This is why production companies, orchestras, festivals and museums joined forces to ask visitors to save their tickets, and support the sector in this way. Residentie Orkest The Hague, the Zuiderstrandtheater and Nieuwe Kerk have joined this initiative. With the slogan ‘Save your ticket, enjoy later’ we ask our visitors to support us during these times.
How does the ticket scheme work?
In first instance we will try to find a new date for the cancelled concert and if we do, your original ticket remains valid. When a concert is definitely cancelled, you will receive your money back (including service and/or reservation costs) in the form of a voucher, a digital credit. This voucher is valid until the 31st of July 2021. You can also opt to donate the amount your tickets are worth to the orchestra. It is also possible to ask for a monetary refund.
What you can expect
The box office of the Zuiderstrandtheater organizes the ticket sales for Residentie Orkest concerts. If you have tickets for one of our concerts, you can expect the following: from the 22nd of April the earliest, you will receive an email from the box office informing you whether the concert has been rescheduled to a new date, or cancelled completely.
In case the concert is rescheduled, your tickets remain valid. If you cannot or do not want to come on the new date, you can opt for a voucher (valid until the 31st of July in the Zuiderstrandtheater and Nieuwe Kerk), a donation, or a monetary refund.

This regulation follows the rules of the Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM) and is supported by, among others, Minister Ingrid van Engelshoven of Education, Culture and Science. “These are challenging times for the cultural sector. We can help the theaters, organizers, music venues, and museums by continuing to attend the performances when circumstances allow. Events are now being moved to a later date. Save your ticket and keep enjoying culture. And if you can’t make the new date, ask for a voucher. This way you help the cultural sector to survive. ”
With “Save your ticket, enjoy later” we hope that ticket holders postpone their visit. As a result, the cultural sector can absorb the major economic blow resulting from the corona crisis. This gives the sector the opportunity to work on new events in the future. This not only helps the organizers, artists and theatres, but also the people behind the scenes who make these events possible, such as set builders, technicians, suppliers, creatives and other employees and freelancers in the cultural sector.
