Rossini, Haydn and the ‘Dutch Beethoven’
We combine a tumultuous overture by Rossini with the enchanting elegance of Haydn’s Cello Concerto. Add Beethoven’s 6th Symphony, which flows past babbling brooks, rustling fields, and village scenes, but also heavy thunderstorms, and you have everything you need for an energised evening. “A theatre full of smiling faces”, national newspaper De Volkskrant headlined when Richard Egarr previously conducted a Beethoven-performance with the Residentie Orkest The Hague. A special afternoon is in store!
