beloved, lyrical, intense, heart-warming
Ever since her first performance, both the audience and the Residentie Orkest have taken soloist Nino Gvetadze to their hearts. So, naturally, we just had to invite her back for a concert with one of her most beloved composers, Beethoven. Although his lyrical Piano Concerto No. 4 made a successful premiere, it then fell into obscurity. Thanks to Felix Mendelssohn, however, it eventually received the attention it deserved. After the interval comes Sibelius’s simultaneously subdued and intense Symphony No. 3.
“A born pianist who has grasped the art of speaking directly to the heart even during the most daring passages.” –
