Chamber Music with Percussion and Clarinet

Wednesday 11 October,20:15
Nieuwe Kerk, The Hague

Sonic Magic

Although the combination of clarinet and percussion sounds strange, a kaleidoscope of fascinating chamber music emerges that is anything but mundane. Composers like Stravinsky and Bartók are famous for their large-scale orchestral works, but they also wrote subtle music for smaller ensembles. These colourful chamber pieces share a programme that also includes works by sonic magician Toru Takemitsu, Theo Loevendie and the legendary clarinettist Benny Goodman.
