Chamber Music with Timur & René

Wednesday 23 May,20:15
Nieuwe Kerk, The Hague

A Global Adventure

Our new violist Timur Yabukov grew up with chamber music. From his previous residence in Geneva, he performed all over the world with the string quartet Fratres. He and our French horn soloist René Pagen have chosen an adventurous programme for tonight. The high point is the Sextet by Hungarian composer Dohnanyi with its unusual combination of piano, violin, viola, cello, clarinet and French horn. Despite the demanding virtuoso writing for the six instruments, this delightful piece is transparent and light as a feather.
