Music as Swift as Water
Flowing gently, dripping rhythmically or whipped into angry waves, there is music in water. Smetana and Debussy’s fascination with winding rivers and the mysterious dangers of the sea is expressed in the masterpieces ‘The Moldau’ and ‘La Mer’. Violinist and artist in residence Baiba Skride is bound to impress in Schumann’s Violin Concerto, a work which long remained unknown. It did not premiere until eighty years after the death of the composer. Since then, it has captured heart after heart.
‘Baiba Skride drew an uncommonly warm and natural tone from her Stradivarius’ – NRC HANDELSBLAD
A complete evening!
Tickets include wardrobe, coffee/tea and a drink during the intermission.
