Collon and Mahler Go on a Journey
Mahler and our chief conductor Nicholas Collon were made for each other. Collon’s earlier performances of Mahler’s symphonies garnered rave reviews. Now Collon and his Residentie Orkest are going on a journey in Mahler’s great Symphony No. 1, which earned the nickname ‘Titan’ for good reason. The symphony is preceded by the song cycle ‘Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen’ (Songs of a Wayfarer), some of the themes of which were given a place in Mahler’s First.
A complete afternoon!
Tickets include wardrobe, coffee/tea and a drink during the intermission.
