Exquisite Piazzolla and More
His name might not be so well known, but many will be familiar with his music. Italian composer Nino Rota’s works include the music for the Godfather trilogy and many of Federico Fellini’s films. Rota’s Trombone Concerto is a true gem from the last century. He is encircled by three musical greats who have all lived and worked in Paris; French colours are captured in their music. We are looking forward enormously to the debut of the young Italian conductor Valentina Peleggi and performances by accordionist Vincent van Amsterdam and our own solo trombonist Timothy Dowling.
