It is wonderful that you are considering making a donation to The Residentie Orkest. The Dutch Tax Authority recognises The Residentie Orkest as a cultural Public Benefit Organisation (Dutch: ANBI). This means that the orchestra fully benefits from your donation without any tax deductions. In addition, an extra donation deduction applies for donors of cultural ANBIs, which means you can increase your donation to the orchestra without increasing your expenses.
Single or incidental donations are tax-deductible to a limited extent because of the threshold and the maximum amount. The threshold amount for incidental donations is 1% of your threshold income with a minimum of €60. The threshold income is the total of your income and tax-deductible items in box 1, 2 and 3, but excluding your personal deductions. You are entitled to a tax deduction for a donation that is higher than the threshold amount and does not exceed the maximum.
The maximum amount is 10% of your threshold income.
A periodic donation of at least five years is completely tax-deductible. No threshold income or maximum tax-deductible amount applies in this case. In order to receive the tax deduction, the donation is formalised in a written agreement.
Because The Residentie Orkest is a cultural ANBI, you can even get a 125% tax deduction on your donation. This extra deduction applies for donations up to €5,000 per year. Donations higher than €5,000 per year remain of course 100% deductible.
