We are seeking high quality candidates to audition for the following position:
Principal bassoon (50%)
Temporary contract up untill season 2020-2021
Employment start date a.s.a.p.
Auditions for this positions will be held on:
Thursday 11 January and Friday 12 January 2018 (starting at 13.30)
– W.A. Mozart, Bassoon Concerto in B-flat major, K 191, part 1 and part 2;
– C. Saint-Saëns, Sonata for Bassoon and Piano, op. 168, part 1 and part 2.
– Orchestral parts.
We ask candidates to be open to authentic playing styles and contemporary music, or show willingness to acquire specific skills in those fields if necessary. It is of importance that, in addition to concert activities, there is interest to participate in our education- and outreach program as well as additional activities essential for a modern orchestra enterprise.
The Principal Bassoon – together with his/her co-principal bassoon and the principals of other instrument groups – is jointly responsible for the realisation of the orchestra’s artistic ambitions. He/she motivates and inspires colleagues, and acts as (conversational) partner for them.
The audition committee reserves the right to make a pre-selection from the written applications. A job interview (after successful audition) is part of the procedure.
